The olive grove is located in hilly terrain with a gentle, sunny and breezy slope that allows for excellent ripening of the olives also thanks to the position that allows for easy and continuous processing. The harvest takes place when the ripening of the olives allows the production of an oil with excellent organoleptic qualities, which characterize the best Umbrian oils among the most appreciated nationally and internationally.

The Municipality of Castel Ritaldi, located about 15 Km from Spoleto and 6 from Montefalco, was born from the merger of three medieval villages, Colle del Marchese, Castel San Giovanni, and Castel Ritaldi itself, where a nobleman with administrative powers resided in the 11th century on a territory called Normandy. The importance of the territory in this period is evidenced by the Pieve di San Gregorio (10th-11th century), a beautiful example of Romanesque sacred art. However, the area was already inhabited and was of some importance even under the Romans, as evidenced by the discovery in the area of the famous find of LEX LUCARIA which regulated the cutting of the sacred woods to Janus. Defined as the Municipality of Wine, Oil and Fairy Tales, it organizes two very popular events: the Palio del Fantasma and Tasty Fairy Tales; the latter event linked, among other things, to the enhancement of the typical products of the area, among which, wine and oil have an important role. In fact, the whole territory is located: for wines in the DOCG areas of Sagrantino and in the DOC areas of red Montefalco and Trebbiano Spoletino and for oil in the Monti Martani DOP area.
